Good Afternoon All,
It is so lovely to see the return of some glorious weather – the children have enjoyed being able to spend time playing on the field. With this warmer weather, please can I take this opportunity to remind you that all children need to have a water bottle and sunhat in school. If needed, sun cream to be applied before coming into school in the morning.
Next week sees our Year 6 children sitting their SATs tests. We wish them the very best of luck, we know that they will be amazing! Don’t forget that our doors will open to Year 6 at 8:20am next Monday-Thursday for a pre-SATs breakfast!
I am sure that many of you will have noticed, Miss Jenkins is expecting her first baby and today she will be leaving to start her maternity leave. We are all very excited to meet the new addition to our Linden Family and I know that you will join me in wishing her the very best of luck and warm wishes. We would like to welcome Miss Sally Pestridge to our teaching team. Miss Pestridge has now taken over the teaching in Class 3 to allow Mrs Wellington to take the role of SENCo in Miss Jenkins’ absence.
Finally, I received a visit this morning from a local resident who has been giving up a significant amount of their own time to litter pick at The Lannett. They reported that groups of children have been spending time on the rugby pitch side of The Lannett and that daily, large amounts of litter has been left behind. Please can I ask for your help with this – I appreciate that this may not be Linden children, but please can this be raised in conversation at home. The local PCSO’s are going to be doing regular ‘walk arounds’ after school and at weekends and I have asked the Local Council to ensure that waste bin provision is adequate.
I hope that you all have a lovely weekend.

Trip to Cotswold Farm Park
The children had a wonderful time at Cotswold farm park. We fed the rare breed animals, held the chicks and saw a large variety of farm animals.
Year 4 Trip to Noah's Ark Zoo and Farm
On Friday 26th of April, Year 4 Visited Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm Park in Bristol as part of our science learning on habitats. We got to visit the animals, including lions, bears and giraffes as well as having talks on habitats and elephants. We even got to hold some animals, including a Hissing Cockroach and a Corn Snake called Butters! The children all had a great day and really enjoyed the trip!
William was excited to share with Class 11 and teachers at school a very important letter he received in the post.
After hearing about the King being unwell, William wrote to his majesty to send his well wishes. Last week he received a reply from the King. With the royal mark and Buckingham palace headed paper, this is certainly a letter to keep for many years! Thanks for sharing such a special item!
The author B.Ware is visiting Linden on Monday 20th May. She will be working with KS2 children and will be available at the end of the day to sell signed copies of her book.
If you would be interested in purchasing a book these will be for sale under the shelter outside the Year 6 classrooms.
Message from Friends of Linden

The biggest event in the Friends of Linden calendar, the summer fair, is taking place in just over six weeks! It is always a popular event, and we love being able to organise it. It wouldn’t take place without the help from lots of volunteers, and we are always very grateful for what they do.
