Dear Parents and Carers,
Firstly, I would like to thank those of you who were able to attend our Parent Consultation meetings last week – it was great to see so many of you. We hope you found them informative and were able to share the celebrations with your children. Although they were the last face-to-face meeting of this academic year, each child will receive an end of year report in July.
Our extra-curricular clubs started again this week and we hope you’ve found that the changes we made to the booking system (following parent feedback) favourable – if you have any additional feedback, please don’t hesitate to speak to the school office. The children at Linden are very lucky to have such a range of clubs on offer and although we appreciate that not every child may have received their first choice of club, we hope that they have been happy with their allocations. I would like to extend my thanks to the staff who volunteer to run these clubs, without them these clubs simply would not happen.
As we move towards the warmer weather (hopefully!) please can I ask that all children have a water bottle in school and a sunhat. In addition, please can I remind all parents that we only allow Year 5 and Year 6 children to walk to and from school unaccompanied and that we ask all parents/carers to drop off and collect from classroom doors or the office if in wrap around care.
Have a lovely weekend.
Lucy Collins

Year 1 Ribston High School Visit
The Ribston High School pupils came at the start of the year to interview the Y1 children and find out what they enjoyed reading. They went away to create stories linked to the children’s interests and wrote personal letters to the children they interviewed.
As part of the project they came back to share their books and talk about their work. Our children were delighted with the books and the fact that they were linked to the things they love reading about. We will be sending the books home soon but are currently using them in school to write a personal letter back to thank the Ribston High school pupils.
A huge thank you to the Ribston High School pupils for the effort that they put into their illustrations and writing.
This week EYFS and KS1 have had a visit from PSCO Chris and PCSO Rachael to tell us all about how to be safe when walking by a road and road safety. We talked about how to cross the road safely and to stay with adults at all times.
