I hope everyone enjoyed the Easter break. Welcome to the Summer term and Eid Mubarak wishes to our Muslim families.
We are looking forward to a fantastic term ahead, with lots to get excited about - such as the Year 6 Residential and our Key Stage Sports days, just to name a few.
This is a busy term, where the focus is also on working hard to achieve end of year targets, especially for those Y6 children who will be taking their SATS tests the week beginning the 13th of May. There will be a Y6 breakfast club that week to get them fully prepared (more details to follow). We are very mindful of not putting extra pressure on the children but encourage them to focus fully and to do their best. We continue to push for high attendance, especially at this time so the pupils are fully prepared. If you have any issues with getting your child into school, please phone the school office or speak to Mrs Begum for support. Year 2 SATS are no longer statutory, therefore we will not be administering these in May as in previous years. We plan to use the materials as we see fit as part of our teacher assessments in mid/late June.
The excitement will also be building around secondary school visits for our Y6 pupils and welcoming new parents of the children due to start school in September. We are looking forward to welcoming you to our Parent Consultation evenings on Monday and Tuesday next week - if you have not yet booked an appointment time, and would like one, please contact the school office as soon as possible.
As always, please keep an eye on our diary dates and thank you for your ongoing support. Have a lovely weekend.

Before the Easter holiday, we held our final woodwind concert under Mrs Arthurs who has worked with the school teaching flute and clarinet for the past 10 years. We would like to say a huge well done to all the children who performed in the concert.
We would also like to say a massive thank you to Mrs Arthurs for all her hard work at Linden over the past decade, and to wish her well for the future. She has promised she will pop back in to see us again at our future concerts so hopefully we will be able to welcome her back as a visitor in the near future.
For children who have been learning under Mrs Arthurs (or anyone else interested in music lessons) we plan to have a new tutor in place very soon, and details will be sent out in the near future.

Message from Friends of Linden
Summer Fair - Tuesday 25th June
We are delighted to be organising a Summer Fair again this year. We will be looking for volunteers to help with the lead up, as well as on the day, so if you are interested, please get in touch. It is always a popular event and the more helpers we have, the smoother it will run.
Do you have a craft business or something similar. If you are interested in having a stall at the fair, please get in touch to discuss this further before we open it up to external stallholders. Contact us on [email protected]
Have a great weekend
