Dear Parents & Carers,
I find it hard to believe that we already find ourselves half way through the school year and very soon we will find ourselves in the final term of this academic year - I think we are all grateful to see the return of lighter mornings and evenings. Spring is hopefully on its way!
The next few weeks of this very short term are busy ones! We are looking forward to the ‘Really Wild Reading Festival’ taking place across the week beginning Monday 4th March. This week will conclude with World Book Day on Friday 8th March - get those book character costumes ready!
In addition, we are looking forward to celebrating all things Science during British Science week in a few weeks’ time, where all children will be taking part in a range of activities and investigations.
Shortly after the Easter holidays, we will be holding our Spring Term Parent Consultation meetings – bookings for these will open ahead of the Easter holidays and further information on this will follow.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns please make an appointment to see me through the school office.
Lucy Collins

Year 1 History Topic - Nursing
In Year 1 our new history topic is nursing long ago. So that we could find out what nursing is like now we had a visit from Becky a nurse at Gloucester Royal Hospital.
She talked to us about what equipment she used, what she does to care for patients and explained how she has to wash her hands a lot to ensure germs do not spread.
We asked lots of questions to find out about her job and what it is like in hospitals now. A huge thank you to Becky for helping us with our learning and talking so passionately about her work.
