Dear Parents & Carers,
Welcome to the final newsletter of 2023!
As we bid farewell to what has been an incredibly long and busy Autumn term, we reflect on the joy and festive spirit that has filled our school in the past few weeks - from the EYFS Christmas Workshop and Key Stage 1 Christmas nativity to the Key Stage 2 carol concerts, Christmas lunches, and class Christmas parties. It has truly been a magical celebration of the holiday season.
Thank you! This is also an opportune time to express our sincere appreciation to our parents, carers, governors, and staff for their unwavering support throughout this first term. Your commitment to the success and well-being of our pupils does not go unnoticed, and we are truly grateful.
Finally, we wish everyone a joyous and relaxing Christmas and New Year. May this festive break bring warmth, happiness, and cherished moments with loved ones. Please note, we will look forward to welcoming you all back into school on Monday, January 8th, 2024.
Best wishes
Lucy Collins

Thank you to all who joined us at the Christmas workshop. It was lovely to see the children having such fun getting busy with the Christmas crafts and getting into the Christmas sprit. The singing was great too! Thank you and Merry Christmas!
We are so proud of the KS1 children and how well they performed for our Christmas play.
It was lovely that so many of you were able to join us for the occasion and were able to share this experience with us. We hope you all have a lovely Christmas with your families.
Year 1 visit from Ribston Hall High School
We are really excited to take part in a project with the students at Ribston Hall school.
They joined us this week to talk to the children about their favourite books. The students are then going to write a book for each of our children based on the information they have collected. The children had a lovely time and really enjoyed sharing their love of reading.
We are delighted to be able to share some photographs with you from the clarinet concert earlier this week. Well done to the children that took part.
Thank you to everyone that attended our coffee morning last Wednesday and for contributing food. Wishing everyone seasons greetings and a Happy New Year.
We look forward to seeing everyone in the new year.
The first coffee morning of the new term will be Wednesday 24th January 2024!
Activity Clubs will start week commencing Monday 15th January 2024 and run until Monday 22nd March 2024.
Bookings will open on Monday 8th January at 6pm and will close Thursday 11th January at 12midday.
Please see below a list of Activity Clubs that we will be offering this term.
Bookings can only be taken via the SZapp. Spaces are strictly limited and on a first come first served basis.
Bookings do NOT carry forward – you will need to rebook your child.
All children are expected to be in school until the end of the school day. We are noticing an increasing amount of parents requesting to pick their children up early and not always giving a clear reason why which is not acceptable.
We encourage parents/carers to make medical and dental appointments out of school hours where possible. Where this is not possible, the pupil should be out of school for the minimum amount of time necessary. Evidence will be requested to support a request for early pick up for medical appointments. Parents will be requested to meet with the attendance team if patterns of regular early picks ups are observed.
Flu Immunisation Catch up sessions
If your child missed the flu vaccinations that took place here at school the nursing team are holding a catch up session at Churchdown Fire Station.
Friday 29th December – 9:30am to 14:30pm
To make a booking please contact the Immunisation Team on 0300 421 8140.
Please can we remind parents and carers that dogs are not allowed on the school premises at any time.

KS2 Carol Concerts Refreshments
After a four-year break, it was wonderful to be able to serve refreshments at the Carol Concerts once again this year. Thank you to everyone that purchased something and thank you to our amazing volunteers. We would not be able to offer things like this without them.
We are always looking for new helpers and would love to hear from you if this is something you are interested in. Please email us at [email protected] to find out more.
We hope that you all have a lovely Christmas break and we look forward to seeing you at one of our events in the New Year.
