Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach the end of the year, the festive spirit is well and truly alive here at Linden School. Our little ones in Key Stage 1 have been busy bees, preparing and rehearsing for their much-anticipated Christmas celebration and we can't wait to see their performances!
Meanwhile, Key Stage 2 are gearing up for their annual carol concerts in the last week of term and again, we are looking forward to celebrating these with our Linden families – fingers crossed for no rain!
Looking ahead to next week, we have some exciting adventures planned. Our Year 3 and 4 children will be taking a walk to our local church for an 'Explore Christmas' experience. They'll have the opportunity to learn more about the traditions and history behind this special time of year.
Year 3 children- we kindly ask that children wear their P.E kits as usual on Monday, but don't forget to bring your coats for the walk to the church.
Year 4 children – normal school uniform.
In addition, our Year 6 students have been invited to attend the Ribston Hall School Christmas performance. It's a fantastic opportunity for them to some of their old Linden peers in action and be inspired by their talent and dedication.
Our class Christmas post-boxes are up and running, and it's been an lovely to witness the children sending and receiving Christmas cards. Finally, as we approach the end of the year, we kindly request that you check the calendar and diary dates for upcoming events. We have a lot of exciting activities planned for the final weeks, and we wouldn't want anyone to miss out. If you have any questions or concerns, please don\t hesitate to contact the school office.
Have a lovely weekend
Lucy Collins

Last Thursday, Year 2 went on a trip to Barnwood Park School for the GSSN annual Multi-Skills Festival. We left Linden after lunch wrapped up warm and dressed in our fantastic Christmas hats. Rudolph and the elves were waiting to welcome us at the gates, and then we were straight into all sorts of activities including dressing up as Father Christmas and space hopper racing. Everyone had a fantastic time, and the year 2 children were a credit to our school as always. A special thank you to GSSN and to sports leaders from Churchdown School Academy for their planning and support throughout the event.
RAF and Navy Roadshow Assembly
Welcome to our gardening news!
The children have been very excited to decorate their own pot and plant an indoor spider plant. This involved a lot of fine motor skills essential for their development e.g. cutting, sticking, measuring etc. We talked about the three main elements a plant needs to grow (compost, water and light) and how they can nurture their plants at home.
With the cold weather setting upon us, we were very keen to create bird feeders for our gardens. Our nature lovers were talking about how happy the birds will be singing in the spring if we support them through the winter.
Flu Immunisation Catch up sessions
If your child missed the flu vaccinations that took place here at school the nursing team are holding a catch up session at Churchdown Fire Station.
Friday 29th December – 9:30am to 14:30pm
To make a booking please contact the Immunisation Team on 0300 421 8140.
Please can we remind parents and carers that dogs are not allowed on the school premises at any time.
