Good afternoon,
It has been a busy few weeks since returning after half term. We had a whole school celebration of Diwali, the 'festival of light', last Friday. The children participated in a range of activities and we had fantastic Key Stage sharing assemblies on Monday. On that same day, we also launched Anti-Bullying week, with both children and staff donning odd socks. It has been wonderful to see the children exploring what makes each of us unique and special.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the children who entered our designing a pair of odd sock competition. We were overwhelmed with the number of fantastic entries we received, and judging was a very tough task! We have announced our Key Stage winners and year group winners in today's assembly, and I would like to say a massive well done to all of them:
- Key Stage 1 winner: Ralph
- Key Stage 2 winner: Tavoya
- Reception winner: Sylvie
- Year 1 winner: Heeranyaa
- Year 2 winner: Hannah M
- Year 3 winner: Kylie-Lea
- Year 4 winner: Ludo
- Year 5 winner: Lottie
- Year 6 winner: Liya
In addition to our celebration of Diwali and Anti-Bullying week, we have also finished the week by celebrating all things Pudsey and Children in Need. I would like to express my gratitude to all of you for your kind donations. We raised a fantastic £261.57.
Looking ahead to the festive season, the school post box will be out between the 4th and 15th of December for your children to share their Christmas cards with their friends. Class lists will be emailed (only) next week, so please keep an eye out for that.
Lastly, I would like to emphasise the importance of reading at home. At Linden, we prioritise reading and strive to foster a love of reading in all of our children. I kindly ask that all parents support this vision by ensuring that ALL children read to an adult at least three times a week at home – we love being able to celebrate their reading successes in our Celebration assembly every Friday.
Thank you for your continued support.
Lucy Collins

EYFS Diwali Celebration
We are delighted to be able to share with you some photographs from our Diwali Celebration last Friday.
Forest School
We went out to forest school for the first time on Tuesday. They had a very good and VERY muddy time!
Welcome to our gardening news!
As the garden slowly goes to sleep for the winter, we are getting on with indoor projects or jobs for the next season. Our amazing partners B&Q have kindly donated to us some colourful Khalanchoe plants. This set us off on a mission to decorate a plant pot for each of the fortheen classes in our school. The children were so excited to deliver the plants, especially for their siblings’ classrooms.
