Dear Parents and Carers,
Gosh, how are we in October already?!
I was able to join our Year 4 children swimming this week and I am delighted to share with you the excellent progress that they have made in their lessons over the past two weeks. Their dedication and hard work have paid off, and we couldn't be prouder of their achievements. Well done, children!
In other exciting news, our school council members have received their well-deserved badges. Congratulations to Xavier, Cassie, Lacey, AJ, Melanie, Tyrai, Liya, and Amelia for being chosen to represent their peers. We have no doubt that they will excel in their roles and make a positive impact on our school community.
Last Friday, we celebrated the full-time attendance of our new Reception children with a fantastic family picnic. It has been so lovely to see how well they have settled into school, and we extend our gratitude to the parents and families who were able to join us. Well done to all the children for their fantastic start to their educational journey!
Looking ahead, next week will be an exciting one for our Year 2, 5, and 6 students as they visit the Cheltenham Literature Festival. For parents of Year 2 children, we kindly request that they arrive at school by 8:45 am. The Year 2 gates will be open from 8:35 am, allowing us to register the children and ensure they board the coach promptly at 9 am. As for Year 5 and 6, there is no need for them to come in early on Wednesday for their visit, as their session is scheduled for a slightly later time.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend – fingers crossed for the promised warmer weather.
Kind regards,
Lucy Collins

EYFS children had a great time at their celebration picnic last Friday where they all received a Linden Bear and became part of the Linden family. Thank you to all who joined us in celebrating, we hope you had as much fun as we did.
Welcome to our gardening news!
We came back to school to find out that our garden was getting ready for harvest time with lots of ripe tomatoes and baby courgettes still growing. We were also pleasantly surprised to find two new planters built, ready for next year’s planting season.
We were very keen to taste our tomatoes and collect new tomato seeds.
The children got busy digging and turning the soil in the new planters.
We planted some wildflower seeds in our Meadow Area in the hope that next year we will enjoy some new colourful flowers. The children are hoping for lots of poppies, buttercups and cornflowers. We were very lucky that the strong wind was in our favour on the day.
We would like to thank Oscar and his family for sharing with us their successes at growing our vegetables and sunflowers at home. Well done!
Please can we ask that if you complete a late booking form for wraparound care that you include your password for collection. This enables the team to handover your child promptly and safely.
Message from the Friends of Linden
Tuck Shop
It was wonderful to see so many people at our Tuck Shop last week. We hope that it will become a regular event and are already planning the date for the next one. More information will follow soon.
Christmas Cards and Merchandise
We love this time of year, when the Christmas Card project is underway; excited children coming home talking about creating their Christmas pictures and seeing the beautiful artwork when we check the orders, it really is quite magical. Thank you to everyone that has placed an order already. There is still time if you wish to order, the deadline is next Wednesday 11th October. Remember to bring in the Artwork Form into school by this date as well, as we need to tie this up with your order to enable it to be completed.
Please contact us on [email protected] if you would like more information on getting involved.
