Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been a very busy couple of weeks and we have all been making the most of this lovely weather. I would like to thank all of you for your support and attendance at our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Sports Days – they were fantastic events, with the parent races putting big smiles on the faces of the children (and adults!).
Last Friday, we waved off our Year 6’s on their residential. There were so many happy, smiley faces for the whole weekend. The children enjoyed activities ranging from using a climbing wall, team games, leap of faith, archery, film night and singing by the campfire plus much more! I am sure Year 6 parents and carers will join me in thanking all the staff that spent their weekend helping to make it such a success. It was a fantastic weekend, with many individual achievements and fears overcome. The children were an absolute credit to you all and to the school, it was a pleasure to spend the weekend with them all. Since returning to school, the Year 6 children have been busy with their enterprise challenge and rehearsals for ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’.
I would like to remind parents that next Tuesday, after school, is our Summer Fair. We are looking forward to welcoming as many of you as possible – I know that there are many lovely stalls and activities lined up.
I hope you all have a sunny, fun-filled weekend.
Best wishes
Lucy Collins
It was lovely to see so many parents and carers here at school for EYFS and KS1 sports day on Wednesday 14th June, we are delighted to be able to share some photographs with you.
EYFS
Year 1
Year 2
Year 6 had a great time on their residential trip to Hilston Park. Over the four days, they took part in many exciting activities such as climbing, the zipwire and the Leap of Faith. In the evenings, they spent their time at a disco and had two campfires in the grounds of the manor house. Many happy memories were made, for both the children and the adults!
Due to the weather, gardening club had to try and hide away as much as possible from the sun for the past few weeks. We still had plenty of fun things to do, from planting in the shade of the pod and eating strawberries from our garden to playing vegetable bingo which the children enjoyed greatly and won seeds prizes.
We managed to create some support for our sweet peas and tomatoes. Our garden looks amazing, due to everyone’s hard work with watering and weeding. We are now wishing for rain to help our plants grow further.

Sponsored Read and Book Fair
The children read for an outstanding number of minutes over the Half Term break. They also worked very hard to raise lots of sponsor money. The total raised from this event was a staggering £960. This absolutely smashed the required amount of £600 to unlock the maximum 60% of free spend from Usborne, meaning that the school have £1536 to spend on books for the classroom. This is an amazing amount.
Thank you to everyone that took part. The winners for the most minutes read will be announced in a few weeks.
Thank you also to everyone that came along to the book fair. It was lovely to see so many of you there.
Summer Fair
Just a few more days until the Summer Fair which is taking place next Tuesday (20th June) after school. There will be lots of fun games stalls plus bouncy castles, an ice cream van, raffle, external craft stalls and much much more. The after school karate club will also be putting on a small demonstration. Come along and join us. The fair will be open from 3.15 - 5.00pm.
We are still looking for donations for our Tombola and Bric a Brac stalls. A donation box is outside the school office. We are looking for unwanted gifts, toys in good condition, toiletries. These stalls are always popular and the more items we have the better.
We are bringing back the cake stall this year and will welcome donations for this on the morning of the fair. They can be homemade or shop bought.
Lots of helpers are needed to help with setup and to look after a stall. If you can help with this, please get in touch.
We can be contacted on [email protected]
Thank you
