Welcome back everyone, I hope that you all had an enjoyable half term break.
What a fantastic day it has been today – we have all loved celebrating World Book Day. It was lovely to see some many of you coming into school this morning to share a book with your child(ren) and the teachers have all enjoyed switching classrooms to read a favourite story to a different year group. Each child has been given a book token that can be redeemed at a range of retailers (www.worldbookday.com/participating-retailers), with many exciting books on offer.
This is going to feel like a very short, yet busy, term with only 4 weeks remaining. Please be advised that our spring parent consultation evenings are taking place before we break up for Easter and the bookings are now open on the SchoolZine App. These bookings will close on Friday 17th March.
Best wishes,
Lucy Collins

We have been taking lots of photos of all the trips, visits and events our school children have taken part in. We love to take photographs or video clips of your children having learning experiences at school.
We havent been able to share all of these with you as we still do not have updated permissions on file for a lot of the children (you may recall we have changed how we capture permissions).
Here's the form should you wish to review the photograph permissions for your child:
My name is Ms Sidhu,
Having worked at Linden Primary School for over 20 years, I am now the founder of my own business Draw to Explore.
My practice supports clients with a non-cognitive therapeutic method which is recommended by CAMHS. It is currently being used very successfully with children within my pastoral role at school.
Below are the details of the service I provide, please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information or wish to make a booking.

Important Reminder
We must remind you that access to the school is required at all times and would ask that you do not park across the gates. This is especially important outside normal hours during drop off or collection from activity clubs, breakfast and after school care. We have had several incidences where staff could not get in or out of the car park.
Telephone and Email
Please may we remind you that if the school phones absence line is recording you may get a busy tone or no tone at all – the lines aren’t down, but please do try again.
If you are emailing the school please be reminded that the school office can be very busy and emails will be replied to as soon as is possible. If the matter is urgent, please do ring the school office on 01452 527020.
Message from the Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) Programme
Message from the HAF Team:
We would like to give every eligible family the opportunity to experience the fantastic support available from the Holiday Activities and Food programme, so making sure they're HAF ready when booking opens on 16 March is really important to us.
Previously, most activity bookings have been taken up in the first few days of bookings going live and we don't want any families to miss out.
We'd really appreciate you sharing details of the HAF programme with parents as soon as possible. It is available for children who receive benefits related free school meals and are in reception to year 11.
kind regards,
The HAF team

Upcoming Trips, Visits and Event Reminders
Year 2 Wilson Experience
A reminder that we have arranged for Year 2 to participate in a workshop at school led by The Wilson Art Gallery & Museum Learning Team. This workshop will help to enrich their coverage of this term’s History ‘Explorers’ unit and will allow children to explore artefacts from local Explorer Edward Wilson’s time in Antarctica.
The workshop will take place in the morning, with a prompt 9am start – your child will order their lunch in the usual way. School uniform is to be worn.
We are asking parents to contribute £3 towards this experience, this can be paid online through Parent Pay, or if easier, can be given to the school office in a named envelope.
Reception Stay & Play Sessions
The Reception team have arranged some stay and play sessions. Please do not worry if you are unable to make all of them, we understand many of you are working and it can sometimes be tricky. The sessions will vary slightly from one to another. All sessions will be held at 2.00-2.45 and most will take place in our EYFS area where you will be invited to come in and play with your child, look at their books and see what they get up to in school.
Booking is required via the SZapp:
Term 4 – Monday 27th March 2.00-2.45pm (within EYFS area)
Term 5 – Tuesday 23rd May 2.00-2.45pm (Forest School)
Term 6 – Wednesday 5th July 2.00-2.45pm (Meet the Y1 teachers in EYFS area)
Year 6 Residential Trip

If your child has any special medical requirements please notify the class teacher. If you have any queries, please contact the school office.

12noon-4pm, Saturday 11 March
Gloucester Cathedral and the King-Smith family are delighted to present a day of celebration on Saturday 11 March 2023, to mark the centenary year of the birth of Dick King-Smith.
Dick King-Smith is famous for writing ‘The Sheep-Pig’, the novel which inspired the Oscar-winning film, ‘Babe’. His other heart-warming tales include ‘The Fox Busters’ and ‘Harry’s Mad’, as well as ‘Ambrose Follows His Nose’, an unfinished novel which his great-granddaughter Josie has recently completed and was published last year.
Families are warmly welcome to join us for a number of special events in the Chapter House of the Cathedral between 12noon-4pm, including:
- A Q&A with the King-Smith family at 12noon
- Book signings and readings
- FREE Arts and Crafts activities with Read with Me
During Choral Evensong at 4.30pm, thanks and praise will be given for Dick King Smith’s life and legacy.
All are warmly welcome to attend, with no tickets required.
