What a whirlwind two weeks it has been!
We welcomed parents of the new Reception children to our Information evening in school and look forward to the next events lined up for them – the drop in sessions can be booked via the New Pupil Hub on the website.
It was lovely to see so many of you join us for our wonderful Jubilee picnic – the weather was so kind to us. Thank you to all of you for your support and for raising £124 for Sue Ryder.
Today, we have had lovely weather for waving the Year 6s off on their residential – we hope they have an amazing time!
Enjoy your weekend

We visited The Knoll to celebrate the Jubilee
Children from the School Council spent the morning preparing sandwiches and scones for a visit to the Knoll Nursing Home to celebrate the Jubilee.
On their visit they shared poems and drawings from the children as well as sharing the food they had prepared. The residents loved talking to the children, bringing smiles to many faces!
Year 4
In celebration of the Platinum Jubilee, Year 4 did an egg drop challenge, we talked about Faberge Eggs, as these form part of the Royal Jewellery collection.
Reception
Scooters and Bicycles
Please can we remind all parents and children that scooters and bicycles are not to be ridden in any of the playgrounds for safety reasons. Please remember these are stored at school at your own risk.
Weather
With the return of great weather, please can ALL CHILDREN have a sunhat and a drinks bottle in school. Please also remember to apply sun cream on your child before school.
Year 1
A reminder of the email sent 14th June - the donations can be placed in a box outside the Y1 doors during the week beginning 4th July. The deadline will be the 12th July as a member of the committee will be coming to talk to the children and collect the items the following week.

Thank you for your support
Linden Primary School has high expectations for attendance. Our Policy states every child should attend every day that they are required to attend.
Holidays should not be taken in term time. Absence for leave in term time may only be authorised in exceptional circumstances. The application for leave must be made in advance and in line with our attendance policy. The Head teacher must be satisfied that there are truly exceptional circumstances based on the individual facts and circumstances of the case.
These attendance guidelines were shared with parents before Easter.
We expect parents to notify the school every morning of absence by 9.30am, unless the length of absence is known in advance. We will contact you if your child has not arrived in school by 9.30am and no message has been left. If we do not receive an explanation, or if the explanation is unsatisfactory, we will not authorise the absence. You may leave a telephone message 01452 527020) or e-mail to [email protected].
We understand sometimes it is unavoidable that medical or dental appointments fall during the school day, please could we ask for a copy or screenshot of the appointment letter or text for our file.
At school, we sometimes take photographs or video clips of pupils. We use these photos and clips only on school approved platforms such as our newsletter, prospectus, internal displays in the school, Teams, Twitter and our own closed Facebook group (users can't view the group's content until they become a member which school have to authorise). We would like your consent to take photos and video clips of your child and to use in these school approved platforms. If you’re not happy for us to do this, that’s no problem – we will accommodate your preferences.

(Please ensure you answer ALL the questions)
If your child was present for the school class and Year 6 Leaver's photographs, they will bring the proof home in their bookbag.
The deadline for returning your school photo orders (to get free delivery to the school) is Thursday 23rd June. This is to allow time for Kittle Photographic to produce the photographs and get them to us for handing out before school closes for the summer. After the 23rd June orders may still be made online, however postage will need to be paid for delivery to your home.
If you did not receive the QR code for your child please let us know by emailing: [email protected] and we will email this QR code to you. Please be aware that we will not be able to access the photographs on the portal until after the 2nd June also.
Message from Friends of Linden
Jubilee Art Project
The last day for ordering items for free delivery to school is today, Friday 17th June. Orders placed after this date will be delivered to your home for a fee. As well as being able to purchase something that your child has designed as a special keepsake of this momentous occasion, you will also be helping to raise funds for the school. Thank you everyone that has ordered so far.
Summer Fair
We will be holding a Summer Fair on Tuesday 5th July, after school. There will be lots of games stalls, a trail, bouncy castles, craft stalls and much much more. We look forward to welcoming you.
If you can help, please get in touch. We need people to help with setup in the day and/or clear up afterwards plus people to help running the stalls. So, if you could help with any of these roles, please let us know.
Additionally, we will soon be asking for donations for the Bric a Brac and Tombola stalls, so look out for more information on dates that we can accept these.
Dunelm Competition
Thank you to everyone who supported us in the Dunelm competition to win the bird box for school. We were jointly awarded first place with over 1,400 votes.
Here at Treasure Seekers we are going to be running a weekly make and take creative session specifically for primary aged children who have autism or social anxiety.
We would be grateful if you could share this with any parents who may find this beneficial for their children.
It starts on Thursday 16th June at 4.15pm.
