Dear Parents and Carers
The sun has been shining and we have all had another busy fortnight!
Last Friday saw our Year 4 children take part in the Young Voices concert – it was an amazing and powerful experience to see 6500 children singing together and enjoying themselves. The momentum hasn’t slowed with the Year 5 trip to the Steam Museum today and Year 3’s visit to Bourton on the Water next week.
A reminder that next week we welcome the Year 6s into school from 8.30am to share breakfast together during SATS week.
Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the sunshine
Lucy Collins

The rain disappeared and we got to enjoy our Forest School experience and had toast made on the fire.
Our trip to Woodchester park was full of nature - climbing, digging and lots of fun!
Year 4
In year 4, we started our new term with a visit to forest school to learn about the Vikings. We learnt how to write using runes, we started fires, we made Viking flatbreads and we made Viking shelters. To finish our morning, we sat around the campfire and listened to stories about the Viking gods, and finally baked our flatbreads over the fire. Thank you in particular to Mr Nelson for leading the forest school activities in the morning.
The children in Reception had a visit from a farmer. He talked to us about his farm and what he has on his farm. He told us about his helpful duck that he has who does all the work so the farmer can stay in bed! We talked about how the farmer was lazy and unhelpful.
Some of the children asked the farmer questions to find out more about him and his farm. We then looked at the book called Farmer Duck.
What an amazing experience to be in the arena with so many other children from their schools singing together! Unforgettable!
Lannett Park
We wanted parents and carers to be aware that a kitchen knife was found in the Lannett Park yesterday and removed. We just wanted to warn you in case your child plays there.
Absences
We understand sometimes it is unavoidable that medical or dental appointments fall during the school day, please could we ask for a copy or screenshot of the appointment letter or text for our file.
Scooters and Bicycles
Please can we remind all parents and children that scooters and bicycles are not to be ridden in any of the playgrounds for safety reasons.
Next Week
With the warm weather set for next week can we remind you to ensure your child has suncream applied before school, a named hat and a named water bottle.
Year 6 SATS Week
A reminder that Year 6 are invited into school at 8.30am next week for breakfast each morning during SATS week.
Photographs
Class photographs and Year 6 Leavers photographs are taking place on 25th May. We still have some permissions outstanding - the form to give your child permission to take part in these can be found on the SZapp
