The end of another fortnight and December is here! We enjoyed a whole school Science Day amongst many other activities. Applications for children to start school in September 2022 are open and we have lots of information on our website including a virtual tour of our school - please spread the word. Now we are in December, our Christmas preparations are well under way.
Although we remain under enhanced COVID restrictions, we are hoping to proceed with our Christmas performances and the bookings are open on the SZapp for the EYFS and Key Stage 1 shows. The deadline for ordering your child’s Christmas Lunch (they can wear their Christmas jumpers too) is 10th December. We will be in touch in due course about the Carol Concerts on the 14th & 15th December and it’s lovely to hear the children practising.
Have a lovely weekend

Christmas Cards
Christmas cards can come into school this year. They will need to be placed in class post-boxes by Friday 10th December (no later). They will be quarantined over the weekend and distributed in the final week of term. Unfortunately, we will be unable to provide class lists.
Photo / Filming Permissions
If you would like to see photos of your child in our newsletter and other places, please make sure we have up to date photo permission form from you - this has recently been updated so we really need to to review the permissions we have for your child. You can complete the form here: Photograph Permissions Form
Trim Trail
Please can we remind parents that the Trim Trail is out of bounds and not to be used by ANY children during drop off and collection times.
Reception
Science day in EYFS: we looked at different materials, filled bottles with a variety of things and then explored with what sounds they made as well as using magnets to see which materials were magnetic.
Year 1
The Year 1 children had a visit from the local PCSO’s Mike and Christine. They talked to us about Road Safety and what we need to do to cross the road safely. We were also lucky enough to make our own finger print bookmarks and got to sit in the police car.
A big thank you to Mike and Christine for helping us with our learning about everyday superheroes in Year 1.
Christmas Card Competition @The Club
The children joined in with a competition to design The Club @ Tuffley Park's community Christmas card. These are sent out to all of The Club's local residents and community. The children submitted their Christmas card designs that are being used for the annual PTA fundraiser to the competition.
Congratulations to Lola from Class 12
Lola has won a children’s party at The Club and she will see her design come to life.

For Applications for Holiday Free School Meal Vouchers please read below:
During the December holiday period, Gloucestershire County Council is providing vouchers to parents who have signed up to our Holiday Free School Meals (FSM) scheme. These vouchers are provided by Gloucestershire County Council as part of its commitment to 'no child goes hungry'. The vouchers are funded through COVID-19 grant funding we have received and is separate to that of the term time free school meals.
Parents who have signed up to the scheme will receive a voucher for £30 for each child who is eligible for FSM which will cover both weeks in the December holidays.
Parents who have signed up previously do not need to re-register, they have already been included, but, to ensure we get all who are eligible, we are encouraging new parents to sign up as soon as they can.
Applications for Holiday Free School Meal Vouchers for the December holiday period is open from Friday 26 November until midday Monday 13 December. Voucher emails will be sent out between 13 and 15 December. If parents apply after the deadline, we cannot guarantee delivery of vouchers before 25 December.
