Dear Parents and Carers,
What a busy week it has been in school! We started the week wearing our odd socks to launch national anti-bullying week. The children have been focusing in class on ‘one kind word’, what kindness can look like and the positive impact being kind can have. Today, we have been breaking the rules to raise money for Children in Need – it has been a great day! Thank you all for your kind donations.
This term seems to be flying by and we are turning a tentative eye towards our Christmas festivities. As previously communicated, we remain under enhanced COVID restrictions and unfortunately, we are still experiencing high numbers of positive cases in school. As it currently stands, we are not able to welcome large groups of parents into school and we are not able to hold any whole-school events, however we will continue to prepare as normal in the hope that we will be able to go ahead with our Christmas events. The dates below show our planned celebrations – we will only be able to do these if it is safe to do so and we will not be able to confirm this until nearer the time. Further information will follow as soon as we are able to confirm our plans, we just wanted to be able to give you an idea of dates and times.

We spent time remembering as a school:
Reception Diwali Party
This week Reception have been learning about Diwali, the festival of light. We have learnt who celebrates Diwali and how it is celebrated. We ended the week with a party where we practised our Indian dancing and even tried some food, it was yummy!
Piano Recital
On 11th November, year 4 and year 5 were fortunate enough to welcome Clare Hammond (clarehammond.com) to Linden for a piano recital. Clare is an acclaimed pianist who has performed all over the world. She shared several piano pieces with the children and explained the stories behind them. The children sat spellbound for 45 minutes, and we now have a lot more aspiring musicians in KS2.
Linden Primary Broke the Rules!
We are sad you haven't been able to come in and visit our school - below are some of the wonderful displays our Learning Partners have created from your children's work:
Trim Trail
Please can we remind parents that the Trim Trail is out of bounds and not to be used by ANY children during drop off and collection times.
Activity Clubs
We have had to make the difficult decision to cancel after school activity clubs. We understand that this is short notice and disappointing for us all, however we have seen a significant increase in positive Covid cases over the weekend.
Many of our clubs include children from multiple year groups and we are having to reduce further the social mixing of children.
Wrap Around Care will continue at this time, with enhanced risk reduction measures in place.
Trip to Everyman Theatre - Reception, Year 1 & Year 2
A reminder that the deadline for completed forms and payment is Tuesday 30th November 2021 - here is the booking form: KS1 Trip to Everyman
Data Collection Sheets
Over the next few weeks you will be asked to confirm the contact information we hold for you - please ensure you get this back to us as soon as possible - due to covid we have not been able to get these important documents to you to check, and your information may be very out of date. Please always ensure we have the most up to date contact information for you. Booking form:
