Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to thank you all for being so understanding over the past couple of weeks when we have had to make very difficult decisions regarding the closure of bubbles due to confirmed cases of Covid within each year group. We have been in touch with the local authority regularly throughout the bubble closures and their advice at every point has been to be incredibly cautious to try and prevent the spread of the new variant and prevent further infections. We know that self-isolation for the children has put families in very difficult positions and impacted on things outside of school. The children embraced online learning again and it was lovely to see lots of the children’s happy faces when I joined some of the Teams meetings to see how you were all getting on. We have enjoyed having Year 1 and Year 5 back in school this week and cannot wait to welcome Year 3 and 4 back on Monday 5th July. We really hope that we can enjoy the last couple of weeks of school without any further disruption.
It has been lovely to see some year groups enjoying their sports days this week and that the weather has been kind to us. Fingers crossed the sun continues to shine for Year 3 and 4 when they do theirs next week. Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to all of the staff for working hard to organise it all.
Children will be taking part in transition activities in their classes on 8th July. They will have video messages from their new class teachers where they will set activities for the class to complete.
Just a reminder that the last day children are in school is Tuesday 20th July 2021.
I hope you all have a restful weekend.
Best wishes
Sasha Davidson

Celebrating the end of Pride Month 2021 this week with some great books!
Key Stage 1
Julian is a Mermaid - Jessica Love
Although this book does not directly have an LGBTQ+ story line, it does open conversations with young ones about gender stereotypes.
Key Stage 2
Stonewall - Rob Sanders
This book tells a moving story of the 1969 police raid on protests that played a crucial role in the gay civil rights movement in America. A brilliant book that is told from the perspective of The Stonewall Inn.
Year 2 started growing various plants, including fruit and vegetables last term, they're really doing well.
Class 9
Have been making clay portraits:
