Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s hard to believe that we’re already half way through June! We have been so lucky to enjoy such wonderful weather recently, please can you please can you ensure your children have named hats, a named drink bottle (no glass or fizzy drinks, please) and either have their sun cream applied in the morning before school or are able to apply it to themselves when in school.
It was lovely to spend last weekend with our Year 6 children for their ‘Festival on the Field’ residential at school. There were so many happy, smiley faces for the whole weekend. The children enjoyed activities ranging from using a climbing wall, team games, forest school, water fights, songs, stories and marshmallows by the campfire plus much more! I am sure Year 6 parents/carers will join me in thanking all the staff that spent their weekend helping to make it such a success. We are so pleased we have been able to do some form of residential for the Year 6 children this year, it was such a special weekend with lots of very happy memories made.
Although we only have 4 weeks and 2 days left of the summer term we have lots to cram in, including our transition afternoon with your child’s new teacher on 8th July.
We will share the class structure with you prior to the transition afternoon.
I hope you all have a restful weekend,
Mrs Davidson

We are celebrating all things poetry this week!
KS1 - I am the Seed that Grew the Tree
I Am The Seed That Grew The Tree is a magical book for children and adults to enjoy together. A beautiful and unusual selection of poems boldly illustrated. It is a new favourite!
KS2 - Funky Chickens - Benjamin Zephaniah
A reissue of the wonderfully irreverent collection of poetry for young people, touching on anything from vegetables to the Queen and from sewage to the sun. There's plenty of humour as well as poems on racism, pollution and the murder of a cat.
Year 1
This week, Year 1 learnt about different types of fruits. We found out where each of the fruits were from and had a go at finding the countries on a globe. We then learnt how to chop and prepare all the fruits and put them together to make fruit salad!
Year 2
This week Year 2 had a special delivery from the animals of the rainforest. We have been learning about The Great Kapok Tree. The children have made Worldes using language about the destruction of the rainforest.
Year 4
A fantastic day on Thursday 10th June, celebrating Viking Day. They got to try out lots of different activities including, whittling, making and burning a Viking long boat. A great day had by all.

National School Breakfast Programme
The National School Breakfast Programme is pleased to announce the launch of its breakfast at home area on the Family Action website. The breakfast at home area shares with parents the benefits of eating a healthy breakfast, and the impact this can have on their child’s readiness to learn, health and wellbeing. It offers tools to support parents in providing a low cost, nutritious daily breakfast, when a school breakfast is not available.
Our easy to navigate breakfast at home website contains six main categories; get organised, nutrition and wellbeing, family fun, top tips, recipes and videos and research. Within these categories are planners, hacks, information about what’s in cereal, nutrition factsheets, ideas for weekend breakfast, quizzes and much more.
