What a busy fortnight it has been!
I know that the children are enjoying their topics with breadmaking, seed growing, arctic explorer art, learning about geology and writing adventure stories!
As we approach the summer, a reminder of the school policy that pupil’s absence during term time disrupts a pupil’s continuity of learning. Parents are required to have requested this leave in writing in advance and to be aware that only absences in exceptional circumstances will be authorised. Our whole school attendance target is 97% and we are currently at 94.6%.
I would also like to welcome the newest members to our Linden family, Mrs Langford has had a baby boy, Charlie and Miss Pelan, a baby boy Tadhg. We wish them all the best!
We hope that you have a peaceful and relaxing weekend

Year 6
In Year 6, we have been writing an adventure story. The children have worked incredibly hard, sharing ideas and using strong vocabulary. Here is just one fabulous example from Sofia in Class 13:
'After managing to get passed the first scene in his journey, Arthur noticed a slight change in the sea. The moon's reflection gave way to Arthur's destination as the sea was drawing him closer to the mountains. A shiver went down his spine as bubbles, the size of his boat, reached the surface...'
Year 3
Shoutout in class 8 to Leo James for making a great volcano, also Jonah, Elsie, Hugo, Abigail, Jolie, James, Scarlett and anybody else who did it but didn't film it for amazing volcano experiments over Easter!
Year 3
In Science in Year 3 this week, we have been using our inquiry skills to group rocks by appearance and simple physical properties. The rocks included granite, sandstone, marble and many others. We grouped these by drawing circles on our tables! Shh, don't tell Mrs Collins or the cleaning team!
Year 2
We have been studying arctic explorers.
We looked at Edward Wilson. He painted key images as cameras weren't as advanced
Year 1
This term we are starting a new unit of science - Plants!
We kicked off the unit by learning about different types of seeds. We then had a go at planting our own broad beans. We can’t wait to watch them grow!
Reception
Reception children have enjoyed making bread.
