Dear Parents and Carers,
Happy Valentine’s Day! What a lovely way to begin the last day of term seeing so many acts of kindness and smiles on the children’s faces.
This week it has been exciting to see the culmination of the last few weeks learning in History, with all children completing their final written pieces. The quality of the work and their knowledge has blown us away and we can’t wait to see what they produce in their Geography units next term.
It has been amazing to see and to celebrate so many children going ‘over and above’ with positive behaviour this term and the children have loved receiving the positive praise postcards – we hope that they are sharing these with you! Hot Chocolate Monday for the ‘Stars of The Week’ has been a massive hit and is definitely one of the highlights of my week.
I would like to wish you all a fantastic half term and look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Monday 24th February.
Best wishes
Lucy Collins

Chinese New Year
Reception enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year. We spent the week learning about China and how and why the New Year is celebrated. We ended our week of celebrations with a Chinese Party where we performed a Dragon dance and tried some Chinese food.

Year 2 Visit from the Wilson Museum
We had a visit from Jo, who works at the Wilson Museum in Cheltenham. She brought with her a LOT of artefacts, photographs, drawings and clothing that helped her to explain to us the story of Edward Wilson. He came from Cheltenham and was a scientist, artist and explorer. He was with the small group of men who were the first British people to make it to the South Pole.

Football
Despite abysmal pitches and weather this season, the boys’ football team have finished joint FIRST in their league along with Tredworth for 2019-2020. Well done to all the boys who played their part, we are really proud of not only the way you performed on the pitch (not losing a single game), but also the way you have conducted yourselves when we have visited other schools, you are a credit to Linden. We are looking forward to getting going again in the cup after half term. Congratulations boys, you completely deserve it.
