Dear Parents and Carers,

With Christmas a distant memory, we seem to have crammed a lot into our first three weeks of this term and it has been lovely to see the children settle back so well. January has bought with it some changes, in particular our new positive behaviour approach. We are all incredibly proud of how well the children have received the changes and it has been amazing to hear just how many positive praise postcards have been awarded for children going ‘over and above’. Myself and Mrs Davidson have thoroughly enjoyed our first two hot chocolate Mondays with the ‘stars of the week’!

We are focusing on the value of kindness this term and I know that many children have already received value stickers. I look forward to celebrating the winners at the end of term.

New dates have been added to the diary and you should have received a copy of the 2020-21 term dates.

A little nag from me…please can you remind your children that scooters and bikes are not to be ridden until they are out of the school gates. The playgrounds are always very busy at the beginning and end of the school day and we want to keep everybody safe.

Maths Challenge

On Wednesday 15th January, four year 6 children took part in the Explore Learning Mathematicians’ Award challenge at the Explore Learning centre in Gloucester Quays. Max, Gabby, Joseph and Dawid did a fantastic job and represented the school superbly. We now wait to find out if they have made it through to the national finals at the Natural History Museum in London.

Archery Reward

Class 4 and Class 9 really enjoyed their archery reward for winning the school's active minutes competition last term.

Ten Pin Bowling Festival

Some of our children were recently chosen to represent Linden at a Tenpin Bowling Festival. The children who attended had a great time and worked hard as a team. They tried so hard they received a medal. We are very proud of you all, thank you for being great sports!

Year 3 and Year 4 parents, if you have forgotten to pay for your child's swimming lessons, it's not too late. Payment can be made via ParentPay or in a named envelope to the school office.

If you are late dropping your child off to school please ensure that you bring them to the school office to be signed in and order their lunch.

If your child is to be collected by someone other than yourself, please inform the school office. For safeguarding purposes, we will not be able to release your child from the classroom unless we have parental permission.

Breakfast, WrapAround Care and School dinners need to be booked and paid for in advance. Booking can be done by email ([email protected]).

We are aware that there are issues with our telephone lines crackling at the moment, we apologise for the inconvenience this is causing. The phone system and lines are being reviewed and reinstalled during the half term week which we are sure will resolve the problem. In the meantime, please bear with us if you need to call in.
