Headteacher's Message July 2019
It was lovely to be able to share both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Sports’ Day with so many of you last week – I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! Congratulations to everyone who took part and, once again, my thanks to all of the staff for organising such a great event.
Congratulations, also, to the Year 6 children and Show Club who entertained us so wonderfully last week with their production of “The Jungle Book”. I know that it takes a huge amount of preparation on the part of children and staff to produce such performances, but this hard work certainly paid off – it was amazing!
It is the time of year again where we wish farewell to our superb Year Six pupils. They have been a credit to the school and have risen to the challenge of leading and setting a good example for the rest. We wish you all the very best of luck for next year. In addition, we are saying goodbye to some of our fantastic members of staff who are moving on to new and exciting challenges- good luck to Mrs Holburn, Mrs Hodgins,
Mrs Freckleton, Mrs Thomas, Mrs Jones and Mr Brown.
I wish you all a fantastic summer and we look forward to welcoming you back for our first day of term on Wednesday 4th September.

Miss Bebber said the children did Linden proud with their attitude and sportsmanship.
All of the children worked as a team, and we managed to win 4 medals in field events.
The sponsored read, raised an amazing £1200, with an additional £800 added by Usborne meaning we were able to buy £2000 of books for the classrooms.
A huge thank you to all of the children that took part and those that supported this - between them they read over 192 hours. A huge thanks to the Friends of Linden and all the children that got involved. We really appreciate it.
Our Year 5 children took part in BikeAbility - they were blessed with good weather and the BikeAbility team were impressed with the children's cycling skills!

Reception, Year 1 and 2 really enjoyed a visit from Midlands Air Ambulance
We are still collecting used postage stamps to support the UK’s Air Ambulance Services. The UK’s Air Ambulance Services are charities which receive no government funding and rely entirely on charitable donations to continue flying and responding to life threatening medical emergencies. All kinds of stamps are welcome.
You just need to leave no more than a 5mm single thickness border around them, and the perforations should not be damaged. Bring them into the School Office – there will be a box waiting for them in reception and once we have a large bundle we will post them off. Many thanks
Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!
What a wonderful day the children in Year 1 had at Weston Super Mare, and the sun shone!
A beautiful day for our Year2s graduating from Key Stage 1 into Key Stage 2, the Year 2 teachers are incredibly proud of what the children have acheived and wish them well for the future...
Year 3 Trip to the Roman Museum
The Year 3 trip to the Roman Museum was a wonderful experience for the children - there was so much to do - here are a few of the photographs:
Our Year 4 children have been visited by the dentist!
While they were in her waiting room they were taught how important it is to look after their teeth, why it's so important to visit the dentist regularly and techniques for good brushing.
The Year 5s went on a trip to Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands trust. Apart from the birds the children saw otters and were given a very informative talk about sustainability "What Happens To My Water?"
Wow! What a performance! The Year 6 children and Show Club were amazing!
The Jungle Book performance was a treat to watch and everyone got caught up in the excitement - the children did us proud. Massive thanks to everyone involved in the Show - the acting, the singing, the backstage staff, the props, the makeup and of course the audiences!
