Headteacher's Message May 2019
MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD
What a short but busy term!
I know that the children are enjoying their topics with celebration days such as the Year 1 Beach Day, Year 4 Mad Scientist Day, Year 2 Forest School and Gardening Day to name a few!
Well done to our Year 6s and Year 2s for their hard work and effort during their SATS over the last couple of weeks!
As we approach the summer, a reminder of the school policy that pupil’s absence during term time disrupts a pupil’s continuity of learning. Parents are required to have requested this leave in writing in advance and to be aware that only absences in exceptional circumstances will be authorised. Our whole school attendance target is 97% and we are currently at 96.4%.
We hope that you have a peaceful and relaxing half term break and look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 3rd June

Year 6 Champions!
Huge congratulations to our Year 6 boys football team!
After an amazing performance, they are now not only Gloucester Inter Schools League winners but the Large-Intermediate Schools Cup winners. Thank you to everyone who came along to cheer them on and a massive well done to the whole team.
Year 5 Tag Rugby Tournament
A squad of 11 children from Year 5 went to Ribston Hall High School TAG Rugby Tournament. There were 10 schools involved from around Gloucester on a very wet and windy day. The children from Linden played so well and gave 100% in every single game. It was clear to see how much we had improved from game one to our last. Every single team member played in the spirit of the game with sportsmanship and hard work. Linden are very proud of these team members, who have now been inspired to play rugby in the future.
Please see below for photos of other special trips that have taken place over the term:
Year 4 Mad Scientist Day
Year 1 Beach Day
Year 2 Trip to Robinswood Hill

• We are still collecting used postage stamps to support the UK’s Air Ambulance Services. The UK’s Air Ambulance Services are charities which receive no government funding and rely entirely on charitable donations to continue flying and responding to life threatening medical emergencies. All kinds of stamps are welcome. You just need to leave no more than a 5mm single thickness border around them, and the perforations should not be damaged. Bring them into the School Office – there will be a box waiting for them in reception and once we have a large bundle we will post them off. Many thanks
• Please can all scooters and bikes go straight into the bike sheds, as accidents happen when children ride them around the front playground.
• If your child is to be collected by someone other than yourself, please inform the school office. For safeguarding purposes, we will not be able to release your child from the classroom unless we have parental permission.
