Dear Parents and Carers

As we head into the final three weeks of this term, we have rounded off this week with Comic Relief – Red Nose Day. It's been such fun to see the children wearing something red and getting involved with the sharing of jokes.

Last week we marked National Science Week, with the week starting off with a bang – the children loved the interactive assembly led by Mr Wellington and Mr Nelson.  Some amazing science activities took place over the week, please ask your children to share with you what took place.

Recommended Reads

This week we have learnt about famous astronauts. We read the story ‘Look up’ and the Little people, Big dreams book about Mae Jemison. We learnt what astronauts do and watched live feed from NASA.

On Friday 7^th March 10 children from Year 5 visited the YMCA in Cheltenham to take part in The Big Build STEM challenge.

The children worked in small teams to create a shelter for a homeless person. This was part of a fundraising challenge and the shelters were used by YMCA staff members to sleep in that evening! The day was a huge success and the YMCA have already raised over £6000 as part of this project.

Parents Consultations – Monday 7^th April and Tuesday 8^th April 2025.

We are pleased to be able to offer face to face parent consultation meetings with your child’s class teacher.  We will have to be strict with the timings and slots will not be able to run over the allocated 10 minutes. 

Parent Consultations will be taking place on Monday 7^th April (3:30pm-6:30pm) and Tuesday 8^th April (3:30pm–5:30pm), with bookings opening on the Schoolzine app (SZapp) at 6pm on Monday 24^th March and closing on Friday 28^th March 2025 at 4pm. 

Please be aware, to book your appointment you will need to log into this area of the SZapp with your SZapp password.  The school does not hold these passwords.

Once you have made your booking (PLEASE complete one full booking cycle per child - you cannot select multiple children / teachers on each booking) you will then receive an email titled, ‘New Booking’ – please keep this to remind you of your booking date and time. If you require more than one appointment please contact the school office.

A reminder you will need to re-book for all activity clubs when they re-start in the summer term as spaces are not held. More information to follow.
