Dear Parents & Carers,
Welcome back and a happy New Year! I hope you all had a happy and peaceful break. On behalf of all the staff, thank you for all the wonderful cards and gifts we received at the end of last term. We were all very grateful.
A new term and a new year. We are easing back into school life and the children (and staff) have returned with enthusiasm and are settling back into routines beautifully.
Year 4 are busy preparing for their trip to the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham on the 27th February, for Young Voices. This is an incredible opportunity for the children to perform in an arena with thousands of other children. If your child’s attendance is not yet confirmed, please speak to their class teacher or the school office as soon as possible.
As the colder weather looks like it is here to stay for a little bit, please can I ask that all children bring a coat to school and that their belongings are clearly named. We had an extraordinary amount of lost property at the end of last term. In addition, can I please remind you to ensure that the office have your correct contact details. If you are unsure, please have a chat with one of the office staff.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns please make an appointment to see me through the school office.
Best Wishes
Lucy Collins
Headteacher

Important Information regarding messages home
We have recently been told that SchoolZine are reducing their services, and we will no longer be able to send text messages.
Starting immediately, any important messages such as head bump notifications, debt reminders or absence queries will be sent via email.
We will continue to send all other communications such as our newsletter, trip letters, class notices and other general letters via email and push notification.
School Heats for the 'Look Who's Talking' Oracy competition.
Last Friday, we carried out our School Heats for the 'Look Who's Talking' Oracy competition. We were proud of all the class speakers who were super brave and presented their speeches in front of the whole school. A winner was then chosen from each of the three categories to advance to the next stage of the competition.
We would like to congratulate Azlan (Class 3) for winning the KS1 school heat, Eva (Class 8) for winning the lower KS2 school heat and Leo (Class 11) for winning the upper KS2 school Heat and wish them the best of luck as they proceed through to the next round.
Class 11 spent time thinking in PSHE about how we can look out for our peers both in class and on the playground. They thoroughly enjoyed writing some positive messages with chalk onto the playground. We hope they will inspire and boost.
