Dear Parents and Carers,
Happy Friday!
The school term is well underway with the children working hard across the school. It was wonderful to see so many of our new Reception Parents at the Celebration Picnic last week and again this week at our Phonics information meeting. The next few weeks are going to be busy ones, with Years 2, 5 and 6 visiting the Cheltenham Literature Festival, individual school photos, Harvest celebrations, EYFS trip to Westonbirt Arboretum and Parent’s Evenings. Please keep an eye on your SchoolZine App for reminders and key dates.
I hate to end the week on a negative note however it saddens me to report that we have been made aware on more than one occasion whereby parents have approached other, unaccompanied children on the playground to challenge them on incidents that have happened in school and/or outside of school. We believe that all staff, pupils and parents are entitled to a safe and respectful environment and the following behaviours are not acceptable:
- Threatening another member of the school community
- Sending abusive messages to another member of the school community, including via text, email or social media
- Any aggressive behaviour (including verbally or in writing) towards another child or adult
- Approaching someone else’s child in order to discuss or chastise them because of the actions of this child towards their own child.
Should any of the above occur on school premises, or in connection with the school, the school may feel it is necessary to take action by contacting the appropriate authorities and/or consider banning individuals from entering the school premises At Linden we are committed to resolving difficulties in a constructive manner, through an open and positive dialogue. Where issues arise, please contact your child’s teacher or a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Many thanks
Lucy Collins

As part of our Design and Technology unit on Cooking and Nutrition, Year 5 have been designing their own version of the recipe for spaghetti bolognese.
We are really fortunate that we are able to make our recipes using the facilities at Ribston High School. Our first group of Year 5's visited this week and led by the teacher at Ribston, they did a fantastic job of chopping vegetables and cooking their bolognese sauce. They even washed up too! We look forward to taking more groups over the next few weeks.

Tuck Shop
The very popular tuck shop will be open next Friday 11th October after school. Come and find us in our usual locations under the shelters in the KS2 playground or opposite the bike storage. All items are 3 for £1, so gather some change and we will look forward to seeing you then. Please get in touch if you could help with this event.
Asda Cashback for Schools
We are signed up to this scheme. If you shop in Asda and use the Asda Rewards app please link your account to Linden Primary School. Make sure you select the Gloucester one. Pass on the information to any family and friends that might be able to help too. The school will receive a percentage of what you spend in store.
Volunteering
We are always looking for new helpers and welcome any help that people can give, whether it be a little or a lot. If you are interested in finding out more about what we do, please get in touch. We can be contacted via the email address [email protected] or via the Facebook group that we run "Linden Parents".
Have a lovely weekend.
