Dear Parents and Carers,
Did we really only start back 3 weeks ago? So much has already happened across the school and it was lovely to see so many parents, carers and children attend our ‘Meet the Teacher’ meetings last week. All of the children have made an excellent start to the new school year and we are really proud of them all, especially our new to reception children. We are looking forward to celebrating their full-time attendance next week at their parent picnic on Friday. Well done to all the children for their fantastic start to their educational journey!
In other exciting news, we are able to announce our new Pupil Leadership Team and School Council members. A massive well done to those children in Year 6 who applied for a position on the Leadership Team – we had over 40 applicants! Yesterday, myself and Mrs Gelsthorpe held individual interviews with the short-listed Year 6 pupils and we would like to share how proud we are of them all. Each class has held their own elections, whereby pupils have presented to their class and votes have then taken place. We have no doubt that they will excel in their roles and make a positive impact on our school community.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes,
Lucy Collins

Year 5 had a fantastic experience, learning what life was like for an evacuee as part of our History Unit on the Second World War.
The children (and adults) dressed up in 1940's clothing and took a steam train ride from Winchcombe, like the children would have done during the war. They sang songs from the era, experienced what it would have felt like in a very dark Anderson Shelter, practiced their fire fighting skills and had chance to handle artefacts.
Although it was a brilliant day, the children were all very excited to know that they could return home to their own families that day and not be taken to a new family, like the children in the war!
Message from Friends of Linden
Hello everyone, welcome back and welcome to the new children and parents starting this year. We hope that you all had a lovely summer break.
We hope that the Reception parents enjoyed the welcome pack and that your children are settling in well.
A few quick notices -
We are very excited to be running the Christmas Card project again this year. So, if you hear your children talking about making Christmas pictures over the next few weeks, this is what it is for. More details will be sent in due course.
We will be holding a Tuck Shop after school on Friday 11th October. This is always very popular so make sure to put the date in your diary and gather some coins.
We are always looking for new helpers and welcome any help that people can give, whether it be a little or a lot. If you are interested in finding out more about what we do, please get in touch. We can be contacted via the email address [email protected] or via the Facebook group that we run "Linden Parents".
Linden Parents is a group that is run separately to the school. It has useful information about Friends of Linden events and can be a useful way for parents to get in touch with each other if needed. If you're new to the group, please make sure you answer the security questions so that we can approve your request to join.
Hope you have a great weekend.
