How have we found ourselves at Easter already?
It has been yet another busy term and i know that the children have loved their topics.
This week, we have seen some fantastic celebrations of the children's theme work,
including exploding volcanoes, explorer adventures and a trip back in time with
Year 1's castle topic.
Thank you to all those parents who attended parents' evening last week. It was lovely
to see so many of you. We hope that you found it informative; allowing you to see
the fantastic work your children are doing and discuss their progress with the class
teacher.
As we approach the Summer term, i just wanted to quickly reiterate our attendance
policy: The Governors recognise that pupil absence during term time can seriously
disrupt a pupil's continuity of learning. Parents are therefore strongly urged to avoid
booking holidays in term time. Parents are required to have applied for permission in
advance will need to see Mrs Goodman for a request form. If we need to have a chat
with you about whether or not the absence can be authorised then we will contact
you. Our whole school attendance target is 97% and we are currently at 96.4%.
We hope that you all have peaceful and relaxing Easter break and look forward to
welcoming you back on Tuesday 23rd April.

On Thursday 7th March, a group of Year 4 children went to visit the Co Op on Seymour Road to learn more about Fair Trade. We did lots of activities from searching for Fair Trade tea, coffee, chocolate and honey to identifying countries of origin. “It was good to go to a shop and learn about a new topic!” said Ali. Opportunities were given to try and identify Fair Trade chocolate with a special taste test! Harely was most impressed with “how sweet and tasty” the Fair Trade chocolate was. Following the visit, we fed back to our class mates which has supported our theme. All pupils did Linden proud in representing the school with excellent manners and a thirst for learning.
Earlier this term a selection of Year 5 children visited IGS, a global construction company in Bristol, as part of the 'enabling Enterprise' project that the schoolare involved in. The aim was to provide pupils with the opportunity to further develop problem solving and team-work skills in a real world situation.
The children had an amazing time working together to build bridges and enjoyed a
virtual realitly experience.
Huge congratulations to our Year 6 boys football team!
After an amazing performance last Saturday, they are now not only Gloucester Inter Schools League winners but the Large-Intermediate Schools Cup winners. Thank you to everyone who came along to cheer them on and a massive well done to the whole team.
