Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s hard to believe that we’re already at the end of June, with only three school weeks remaining. We have been so lucky to enjoy such wonderful weather recently, please can you ensure your children have named hats, a named drink bottle (no glass or fizzy drinks, please) and either have their sun cream applied in the morning before school or are able to apply it to themselves when in school.
We all had a fantastic time at the disco last night, with over 300 children attending. A whopping £827 was raised and we would like to thank all staff involved who made it not only possible but a roaring success.
It was lovely to be able to join our Year 6 children at Hilston Park for their residential. There were so many happy, smiley faces for the whole weekend. The children enjoyed activities ranging from the leap of faith, zip wire, campfires and so much more! I am sure Year 6 children and parents/carers will join me in thanking all the staff who spent their weekend helping to make it such a success, it was such a special weekend with lots of very happy memories made.
Although we only have 15 school days left of the summer term, we have lots to cram in, including our school fayre, art exhibition, sport’s days, ‘move up’ afternoon, Year 2 graduation and Year 6 Leaver’s assembly – please see our diary dates.
For Key Stage 1 parents and families:
EYFS & Key Stage 1 Sports Day will be held on Thursday, 3rd July with a prompt 9.30am start.
The black gates on the Key Stage 2 playground will be opened from 9.20am and will be closed just before 9.30am - any late arrivals will need to enter the school though Reception via the main entrance. Please ensure that your child comes with a drink and sun cream and a hat.
Should the weather be against us and we have to cancel, we will inform parents by 8:30am on the day.
Have a fantastic weekend,
Lucy Collins

Last term, we took charge of a roarsome new arrival at Linden. Due to our fantastic fundraising efforts at the Linden Christmas Disco, we were given our own little lion cub to decorate and add to the Lions at Large Trail, this Summer.
We have named him Lionel and had so much fun painting him. We can’t wait to find out soon where he’s going to be hidden for the trail!
A huge thank you to PCSO Chris and PCSO Chloe who came to talk to the KS1 and EYFS children about road safety. The children learnt how to safely cross the road and how to be aware of potential dangers. The talk was very informative and the children got to ask lots of questions.
Some of the children attended Coopers Edge Primary School where they show cased their amazing DT designs.
Well done to Reuben, Priscilla, Destiny, Tavoya and Laveyah for your fantastic DT creations and presentations. You were all amazing , represented Linden Primary so well and made both Mrs Phelps and Mrs Fritchley extremely proud! Well done to all of you.
