Dear parents, carers & children,
Here we are at the end of the Autumn Term and the end of 2024. Autumn Term is always a long and tiring term, but there’s always an awful lot happening!
The last two weeks have been magical and full of festive fun - from the EYFS Christmas Workshop and Key Stage 1 Christmas Nativity to the Key Stage 2 Carol Concerts, Christmas lunches, and class Christmas parties. The children have done so well and we would like to share our huge thanks to parents and family members who came to show their support.
This is also an opportune time to express our sincerest thanks and appreciation to our parents, carers, governors and staff for their unwavering support throughout this first term. It has been a fantastic 2024 and I cannot wait to see what 2025 brings.
As parents in Class 3 know, Miss Pestridge is leaving us this week to take on a new role. We would like to express our thanks for her hard work and commitment shown during her time with us and wish her the very best of luck.
Finally, I hope that you all have a fantastic Christmas and are able to relax and enjoy some quality family time. We look forward to welcome you all back on Monday, January 6th.
Best wishes
Lucy Collins

Important Information regarding messages home
We have recently been told that SchoolZine are reducing their services, and we will no longer be able to send text messages.
Starting immediately, any important messages such as head bump notifications, debt reminders or absence queries will be sent via email.
We will continue to send all other communications such as our newsletter, trip letters, class notices and other general letters via email and push notification.
On Thursday 5th December, Year 2 travelled to Oxstalls to take part in the annual Gloucester School Sports Network (GSSN) Multi-Skills Festival. The event is always great fun in the lead up to Christmas and this year was no exception. The children were a credit to our school, as always. A big thank you to our helpers who made it possible, and a big thank you to GSSN for organising such a lovely morning.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported us for the Linden Christmas Disco and Tuck Shop. Special thanks also to the Year 6 Pupil Leadership Team and School Council Representatives who have helped with the running and organising of both these events.
As a result, we have managed to raise over £700.00 for the Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity which boosts are participation in the Lions at Large Trail next year.
Thank you!
Key Stage 1 Nativity - The Dinky Donkeys
A massive well done to our Key Stage 1 children who were so brilliant in not one but two Nativity performances to a packed out hall on Thursday 12th December!
Thank you to the parents and carers who supported this event by providing clothes and costumes, helping to practise lines at home and by attending the performances. We feel very proud of all the children who took part and we're sure 'The Dinky Donkeys' will live long in the memory!
'Look Who's Talking' Oracy competition
Last Friday, we carried out our Class Heats for the 'Look Who's Talking' Oracy competition. We enjoyed hearing their speeches in class about their many interests, inspirations, and personal backgrounds. Each class then chose a 'Star Speaker' to move forward to our Whole-School Heats.
The Star Speakers for each class are:
Dear Parents and Carers,

Message from Friends of Linden
Events
It has been a busy term, with the Tuck Shop, Christmas Art project and refreshments at the KS2 Carol Concerts.
Thank you to everyone that has supported these events. We love being able to offer them and as well as it being something that the children and wider school community enjoy, it helps to raise valuable funds for the school.
Thank you also to the school staff that help behind the scenes with communication, setting up equipment or facilitating the art projects in class. We appreciate the efforts that you go to assist the smooth running of these activities.
Funding
This term we were delighted to be able to fund the class Christmas parties once again. There are some fantastic funding opportunities coming up which we are very excited about. Look out for more information coming soon.
Asda Cashpot for Schools
Thank you to everyone that signed up to this, encouraged family and friends to join and helped to grow our cashpot by shopping in Asda during the promotion period. We raised a fantastic £306.93, which we will receive in the Spring.
Our Volunteers
Lastly, I want to say a huge thank you to our amazing volunteers. Without them we wouldn't be able to offer the events and projects that we do, so their support is invaluable.
We desperately need to grow our volunteer numbers so if you would like to get involved with future events and projects, please get in touch to find out more at [email protected] . You can also get in touch via the Linden Parents page on Facebook, a group run by parents that is used to communicate a range of things.
All help is welcomed, however big or small, so please help us to support the school and continue to run these events. As well as the feeling like they are making a difference, our volunteers enjoy being part of some magical events like the Carol Concerts, seeing the beautiful art that the children produce or being part of the excitement that the Tuck Shop brings.
We hope that you all have a lovely festive holiday and wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
